LMC Director of Manufacturing (LMC Director)

The Lexington Manufacturing Center (LMC) is looking for a dedicated and experienced leader to serve as the Director of Manufacturing!

The LMC Director provides overall leadership and management of manufacturing staff and employees ensuring safe, efficient, and financially responsible operations within LMC.
LMC provides quality services on the local, national, and international level, as well as serving as a training ground for OWL participants.

Experienced and quality assured, our manufacturing processes meet or exceed industry standards at every step, as evidenced by our ISO 9001:2015 certification and production of materials listed by Underwriters Laboratories and the CanadianStandards Association.

Position: LMC Director of Manufacturing (LMC Director)

Description: Responsible for the leadership and management of all manufacturing, production, warehousing and logistic operations.

Accountability: Reports to President/CEO of OWL, Inc.

FLSA Status: Exempt


Education and Experience
Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
MBA or advance degree preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of middle/senior manufacturing management experience.
Skills and Knowledge
Proficient in leading a large team; providing direction, support and development of manufacturing teams across the plant.
High problem-solving ability, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Demonstrates good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of laws legal requirements and guidelines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook and TEAMS).

Analyze plant floor operations; identifies trends and implements corrective actions as necessary.

Practice continuous improvement in all areas of operation and participate in implementation.
Identify industry benchmarks, trends, and characteristics of high performing companies.
Be informed of and responsive to the manufacturing environment (local, regional, national, and global).
Seek out and implement best practices and Lean principles in operations (such as an ISO 9000 accreditation).
Demonstrate the ability to utilize and interpret data in decision-making.
Establish, implement, and enforce premises security policies and procedures.
Describe characteristics of a well-run manufacturing plant.
Identify overall daily, weekly, monthly and annual production requirements.
Understand and explain workflow, resource requirements, and criticalities within the plant.
Communicate effectively with staff, employees, customers, and suppliers/vendors.
Managements and Leadership
Participate in the development of a Strategic plan with performance goals and long-term operational plans.
Ensure LMC’s Strategic Plan and goals align with and support OWL’s Strategic Plan.
Execute and monitor the effectiveness of the Strategic plan.
Ensure LMC meets or exceeds all quality, safety, health, and environment standards.
Incorporates ethical standards of practice as the basis of all interactions internal and external.
Provide support in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Participate in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of LMC’s marketing plan.
Ensure the measuring, reporting, and continuous improvement of organizational performance
Develop employees and staff through coaching, training, support, and mentoring in best practices across all areas of operations.
Ensure all staff and employees are current on and properly trained in operating standards, safety rules, and pertinent regulatory procedures.
Promote individual, team and organizational learning opportunities
Financial Planning
Participate in creation and on-going management of LMC budgets and financial targets.
Negotiate new business contracts with appropriate pricing, deadlines, and details of services provided ensuring a financially sound contract that meets the customer needs.
Evaluate productivity and cost-effectiveness of operations, workflow, and equipment.
