Job Title: Chief Credit Officer Job Code: 575 FLSA Status: x Exempt Non-Exempt EEO Job Category: 1 Reports to: President Job Grade: 21 Revision Date: September 2021 Supervisor role
– Lead and Manage credit operations employees.
Key Result Areas:  Manage credit structure including loan processing.

Recommend and implement credit delivery channel changes and communicate regularly with loan processing and credit officers.

 Manage loan review policy and process  Review and recommend to president areas of concern with proactive solutions related to credit concentrations, credit products and credit delivery.
Summary: Oversees and administers the credit risk management of the Company’s Commercial Loan Portfolios.

Determining if credits meet sound underwriting standards and does not pose greater-than-normal risk; Coordinating the development or revisions of policies, procedures and agreements to ensure compliance with regulatory process; Providing advice and guidance to the company’s lending management.

Management/Strategic Leadership:
 Periodic review of credit policy.

Recommend and implement approved changes which enhance credit quality and credit delivery while maintaining credit controls.

 Be proactive.

Review schedules and activities ahead of dates and make recommendations / seek answers.

Provide an additional level of credit review prior to DLC meetings.

 Create reports for DLC and board use which are explanatory and representative of Bank’s current and expected loan performance.
 Identify credit department efficiencies and loan operations efficiencies.

Implement plan/program to drive forward with these efficiencies.

Management/Strategic Leadership:  Planning.

Stay knowledgeable of bank offerings and those of competitors.

Work with President to position bank appropriately based on mission, culture, vision and strategy of bank.

 Coach, mentor and motivate all staff members to develop the skills necessary to grow in their positions with Bank.

 Train and become highly proficient in CSI; review accounts, payments, Center Doc and potentially move into report writing/design.
 Schedule and host bi-annual loan team meetings.

Include compliance, lending staff, loan processing staff and credit administrators throughout bank.

Customer Relations and Growth:
• Provides quality personal service to new and existing customers to build relationships for life.

• Planning.

Stay knowledgeable of bank offerings and those of competitors.

Work with President to position bank appropriately based on mission, culture, vision and strategy of bank.

• Make calls with officers.

Be in the field.

Work closely with account officers and clients.

• Client service needs.

Internal employees are the clients of the CCO.

Work closely with all employees of the bank on all credit-related issues/items.

Policy, Compliance and Regulatory:
• Keeps current on new legislation and regulations that may directly affect the bank’s business activities.
Ensures that all compliance training requirements are offered to the appropriate individuals at the determined time intervals and that such training is on-point and attended.

• Develops and maintains open relationships with regulatory authorities.

• Ensure regulatory compliance.

Work directly with bank president and compliance department Supervisor to ensure all current compliance policies and procedures are being followed and that loan policy and procedures capture current regulatory compliance guidelines.
Attend applicable conferences and training opportunities available to enhance knowledge and share learned information with Bank employees via educational presentations.

Community Engagement:
• Represents the Bank to customers, regulators, shareholders, contractors, consultants and other constituencies.

• Develops and maintains good community relations.

• Involves other employees appropriately in community relations.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree and significant (5 years or more) relevant banking experience.

• Proven significant lending experience.

• Strong financial analysis skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Required supervisory and managerial experience
• Proven background in bank operating procedures
• Strong background of interaction with Board of Directors or similar management structure
Physical Requirements:
• Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending and stooping.

• Occasionally lifting and or moving up to 25 lbs.

• Frequent sitting
• Manual dexterity
• Good reading eyesight and vision for close work.

• Ability to communicate by speaking and hearing in person or on the phone.
