*University of Kentucky | College of Health Sciences* *Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders* *Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty Position in CSD*** The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) in the University of Kentucky’s College of Health Sciences (CHS) is currently accepting applications for an open rank, full-time (11-month), tenure-track faculty position.

We invite you to seize the opportunity to become part of a dynamic group of individuals focused on being a national leader in research, instruction, and service.

Primary duties for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and engaging in scholarly activity by maintaining an active research agenda and by seeking extramural funding.

Additional duties include advising students and participating in service across the department, college, and university levels.

Faculty will also assume an active role in the CHS Rehabilitation Sciences Doctoral Program, a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional Ph.


program with faculty and students from the disciplines of Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).

Qualified applicants must possess a research doctorate in Communication Sciences & Disorders or a related discipline.

ASHA clinical certification and eligibility for Kentucky State Licensure is preferred, but not required.

Qualified applicants in all areas of CSD expertise will be considered, but preference will be given to those with experience in one or more of the following areas: voice, fluency, motor speech, and cleft palate/craniofacial anomalies.

Rank, tenure status, and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

*About the CSD Program*** Our program has offered undergraduate and master’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders for over 50 years.

The qualified candidate will join an outstanding academic faculty devoted to teaching, research, clinical practice, and service.

Our faculty is comprised of 11 certified and licensed SLPs, one certified and licensed audiologist, one dually certified and licensed SLP and audiologist, and one speech physiologist.

All faculty are engaged in active clinical practice and/or research.

The UK CSD program boosts a stellar history of two ASHA Honors recipients, eight ASHA Fellows, four state DiCarlo recipients, one national DiCarlo winner, and a past president of ASHA.

Our faculty are funded at both the state and national levels (NIH, DoE).

Our research portfolio is diverse and places a high value on translational, interdisciplinary, and collaborative science.

The College of Health Sciences is home to a variety of state-of-the-art research laboratories (both wet & dry) and maintains strong collaborative ties with colleagues across campus.

The successful candidate will have access to several significant research and clinical resources including the College’s state-of-the-art teaching facilities, the UK Voice and Swallow Clinic, the CSD Academic Clinic, the Laryngeal and Speech Dynamics Lab, the School of Music’s Voice Performance Program, the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass, the Human Development Institute, the MRISC Neuroimaging Center, the Center for Clinical Translational Sciences, the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, a contiguous Veteran’s Affairs Hospital, the College of Dentistry, and the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute.
