They are also responsible for technical analysis of specific underwriting data to assist underwriters in the underwriting process.* Review and analyze new business, renewals and endorsement submissions received from brokers using the automated facilities of the Company Portal, Imaging System and other system supported tools, as directed.* Obtains and reviews pertinent information needed to evaluate new business and renewals as requested, according to prescribed criteria and authority. Takes necessary action when requesting additional information needed to price, process and produce business. Follow up with appropriate internal and external customers.* Maintain quality and time standards as established.* Provide timely, courteous and efficient service to all internal and external customers. Communicates in a timely and positive manner. Written and oral communication should be clear, concise and well organized.* Document files with the appropriate underwriting/rating information to assure activity, analysis and risk evaluation is clear, concise and completed, as directed.* The return of calls and emails promptly and in all cases, within 24 hours of receipt.* Keeps current on state/territory issues and regulations, industry activity and trends. Collaborates with other departments to support program(s) (i.e. regulatory, underwriting compliance, claims, actuarial).* Perform other duties and backup to other Assistants as necessary.Qualifications* Minimum two to three (2 to 3) years’ experience as a technical/underwriting assistant with similar duties. Previous experience assisting underwriting equine insurance products a plus. Advance knowledge of horses is a plus.* Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.* Strong oral and written communication skills.* Ability to multi-task, demonstrate planning and organizational skills.* Computer skills including Power Point, Adobe and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)* Job location will be Lexington, KYEducationBachelor Degree – Equine Science and Management, Accounting or Business Administration preferred or equivalent work experience.Additional Company DetailsThe Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.Additional RequirementsMust be fully vaccinated and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19. *, unless prohibited by law.
