The person in this role communicates with the purpose of enhancing program awareness, assists with program development, builds client awareness and marketing expertise and works with the field to ensure programs are executed with excellence.Specific ResponsibilitiesProgramming and Education* Oversees FDA National Menu Labeling compliance as it relates to nutritional signage in on-campus residential and proprietary retail locations.* Works with internal recipe and menu programs and systems to post accurate menu item nutrition information on dining website.* Supports Healthy for Life Platform and implementation of programs.* Spread nutrition education and awareness through educational tabling events, cooking demos, lecture presentations, health fairs, and other on-campus programming.* Partners with student groups, and campus organizations and departments in planning and executing health and wellness events.* Works with marketing to engage the student population through social media by posting daily updates and nutrition news on the dining website, Facebook® page, Instagram, Twitter, etc.* Supports contract retention efforts and client relations.* Stays current and up-to-date on dining, nutrition and sustainability practices and trends.* Maintains registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensure through the state board. Maintain professional continuing education annually.* Serves as preceptor for dietetic internship programs at accredited universities in the state.Food Service Management* Supports the Five Ps of Food Management – Plan, Product, Production, Portion, Post Analysis* Supports Higher Education Executional Framework Checklist* Works with chefs and production team to perform monthly kitchen and location audits. Check product purchasing and proper usage, take note of new products or changes, analyze nutrition labels and verify accurate ingredient and allergen information.* Partners with Safety Champion to engage employees and managers in educational in-service and pre-service meetings, and regular trainings to review proper food safety and allergen management procedures.Nutrition Counseling* Conducts one-on-one nutrition counseling and consultations for students with special dietary needs. The purpose of consultation is to enable the student to assume more personal responsibility for their health and to help them make their own determinations on what to eat and what not to eat.* Applies Medical Nutrition Therapy and follows the Nutrition Care Process during consultations.* Works with the culinary team to ensure student’s dietary needs are being accommodated and arranges for specially prepared meals, purchase of prepackaged foods or sourcing special requests when the daily menu offerings do not meet their needs.* Works with student accessibility/disability services and campus health services for proper student registration and medical documentation as it pertains to meal plan exemptions and accommodations.* Provides individual tours to students and parents to familiarize them with our dining locations and to identify options related to their specific condition.* Follows HIPAA and FERPA guidelines throughout the entire nutrition counseling process.Qualifications* Requires at least 2 years experience and 0-2 years in a management role* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
