SALARY

The minimum hourly rate is $20.724 per hour

This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime Pay Grade 517

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to provide assistance to attorneys with administrative tasks as needed through collection of owed debts and assistance with other litigation cases, with an emphasis on foreclosure litigation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactorycompletion of two (2) years of college education in paralegal studies; and, a minimum of two (2) years of paralegal experience; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Enters deposits in the form of cash, check, or money order into PeopleSoft Financial System Prepares drafts of court pleadings, default letters, and/or other documents as needed Interprets title work and prepares drafts of foreclosure pleadings

Manages and organizes documents for both state and federal case Researches information relevant to cases for use by attorneys

Answers telephone calls from citizens, outside attorneys, and other concerned parties Serves as a notary or witness for legal documents

Enters legal and relevant data into a database for future use Performs related work as assigned.

EXAMINATION

EXAMINATION will be a training and experience evaluation from information provided on the application at the filing deadline date weighted at 100% of the final score.
