Business Operations Associate (Remote)

, located in Tustin CA, is a dedicated contract development and manufacturing organization (” CDMO “) focused on development and CGMP manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals products derived from mammalian cell culture.

Avid provides a comprehensive range of process development, high quality CGMP clinical and commercial manufacturing services for the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries.

With over 28 years of experience producing monoclonal antibodies, enzymes, and recombinant proteins in batch, fed-batch, and perfusion modes, Avid’s services include CGMP clinical and commercial product manufacturing, purification, release and stability testing as well as regulatory strategy, submission and support.

Avid also provides a variety of process development activities, including cell culture and feed optimization, analytical methods development, and product characterization.

Summary/Objective: Prepares proposals, including appropriate work plan, timelines, costs, and other detailed information as needed based on requirements provided in the client request for proposal (RFP) and any supporting document(s).

Circulates RFP documents as appropriate to internal team members for input or review to prepare drafts, revisions and final proposal.

Gathers and formats quality information into the appropriate proposal format, using templates and following proposal-writing standards .

Works closely with internal subject matter experts ( SME s) and B usiness D evelopment (BD) to ensure proposal generated meets the requirements of the client and those defined in the RFP, circulating to enable SME review , Executive approval , and issue of proposal on time.

Participates in, and coordinates, necessary internal or external client technical or proposal review discussions and revises the proposal in the agreed timeframe for issuing to client.

Meets proposal deadline s by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.

M aintains request for information (RFI) database and generates appropriate standard Avid capabilities and description segments for inclusion in proposals.

Receives and coordinates responses to RFIs to support client RFP process or prospecting.

Supports contract data entry using our pricing template and customer relationship management tool (CRM: Salesforce .com ).

Maintain s data analysis and analytics support for sales cycle related functions in proposal and presentation collateral .

Participate s in mandatory team meetings and regularly standing internal calls .

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.

May also be asked to perform additional technical writing responsibilities and building tools/products for company internal use.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This role is a full-time , exempt position.

Days and hours of w ork are Monday through Friday, unless otherwise stated by Supervisor .

The employee must also, if instructed, have the ability to work overtime when necessary.

Travel : Minimum travel domestically by land and/or air as required for in person meetings at Avid Bioservices (Tustin, CA) .

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A .

or B.S.) in B iology , Biochemistry or Biotechnology from a four-year college or university and: Minimum 2
– 4 years’ experience in life sciences ( Drug Substance Manufacturing or Process Development preferred ) .

Also experience in project coordination/management is a plus.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience .

Self-starter with the discipline and motivation to work-from-home .

High attention to detail .

P roven ability to submit deliverables within project tim elines and with the commitment to produce high quality work .

Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, supporting fellow business operations, marketing, proposal writers and project management professionals .

Ability to navigate internal teams to ensure the best support of client needs .

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, and others a needed.
