to 5:00 p.m.; and evenings and weekends as needed.Job SummaryThe Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky, and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment seek a Native Plants Collection Manager/Curator.

The Arboretum’s signature collection, the Walk Across Kentucky (WAKY) Native Plant Collection, serves as a living laboratory for students, staff, faculty, visitors and volunteers.

The Native Plants Collection Manager/Curator will manage and further develop the WAKY Native Plant Collection.

The WAKY represents Kentucky’s seven physiographic regions with trees, shrubs, vines and herbaceous plant materials that were wild-collected as seed from each physiographic region.

As a curated and managed collection, it is a living museum that conserves and displays native plant ecosystems and provides many opportunities for education and research.

The successful candidate will have education and experience in native ecosystems or a closely related field; will be curator for the native plant collection; will interact with UK faculty, staff, students, visitors and volunteers to ensure our mission of education, conservation and research continues; and will develop and implement Extension and other educational programming about the Native Plant Collection.Please provide the required example/s of non-technical articles, programming or blogs which convey your communications and writing abilities (maximum of 3 samples).
