Landscape Technician

This is a Full-time position in Lexington, KY posted May 12, 2021.

First Hamburg Services is seeking a Landscape/Maintenance Technician to be responsible for performing general landscaping and maintenance work for a commercial property in the Hamburg area of Lexington, Kentucky.

What you can expect of this opportunity

The Landscape Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep of the landscape and the exterior image of various company properties. Duties include maintaining of the lawns, driveways, parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, exterior hallways, or any other public areas, maintenance of property flowerbeds, plants, and grass areas.

  • Grounds keeping & landscaping tasks including snow removal, mowing lawns, pulling weeds, etc.
  • Painting and basic building clean-up responsibilities when needed
  • Occasional repairs requiring knowledge of a trade such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.

  • Six (6) months experience related to the responsibilities above.
  • General knowledge of daily maintenance groundskeeping/landscaping
  • Ability to safely operate equipment.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with other employees, management, visitors, outside contractors, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.


Scheduling & Travel

  • Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
  • Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include early or late working hours or weekend hours


Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • Six (6) months working experience in landscaping or groundskeeping.
  • Valid Kentucky Driver’s License and the ability to maintain a driving record in good standing.

Job Requirements:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Responsible for daily trash removal from all public exterior areas
  • Performs lawn mowing, trimming, edging
  • Performs Spring & Fall cleanup
  • Responsible for care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the company related to grounds work.
  • Responsible for basic tree and bush trimming
  • Assists maintenance staff as requested with basic maintenance for facilities such as changing light bulbs, moving furniture, etc.
  • Snow removal (when applicable)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
