Human Resources Coordinator

Lextran

This is a Full-time position in Lexington, KY posted April 29, 2021.

The Human Resources Coordinator will perform tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources Department.

Job Requirements:

  • Assists the Human Resources Manager with talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
  • Provides daily support for a variety of human resources programs, functions and activities, including benefits administration, Family Medical Leave (FMLA), employee status changes, and other leaves of absence.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records and documentation. Performs periodic audits of files to ensure that all documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring process, etc.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings and other employee recognition and engagement activities.
  • Assists with new employee orientation and training.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

  • Supports investigation and documentation efforts related to disciplinary matters, grievances, arbitrations, or other non-bargaining unit employee issues.
  • Supports the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for Drug & Alcohol Program and the Compliance Coordinator/EEO Officer.
  • Maintains cooperative relationship with coworkers and management by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport; and participating in problem-solving methods.
  • Understands all aspects of the company and keeps abreast of all changing policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS

  • Knowledge of transit management and/or labor union environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to use Microsoft or similar software programs
  • Familiarity with Paycom or similar human resource software preferred.
  • High level of detail and procedural skills.
  • Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and support appropriate response to employee issues.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and problems that arise.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources or related fields.
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB

  • Frequently communicates with employees, visitors, and customers in person, on the telephone or mobile device, and on the computer.
  • Frequently remains in a sitting position at a desk.
  • Frequently uses the computer with fingers and hands.
  • Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room.
  • Occasionally travels off-site to local meetings and out-of-town conferences.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside elements.
  • Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

May be required to stoop, bend, or kneel.
