Customer Service Coordinator

General Summary
Growing Third Party Administrator is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have experience in Customer Service with afocus on Medical claims,possess a professional and positive attitude, a track record of attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and think outside the box. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of exceptional customer service and professionalism
  • Answer incoming calls in timely and profession manner
  • Navigate through customer service applications with speed and accuracy
  • Work with customers/providers to resolve all inquiries
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to customers with technical issues
  • Read and interpret health insurance plan documents and accurately quote benefits
  • Read and interpret medical, dental, vision claims to provide answers to inquiries
  • Oversee and monitor EDI rejects to keep current
  • Work EDI rejects as needed in a timely manner
  • Assist with other projects when needed
  • All other office tasks as assigned by Supervisor

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to function independently and as a team player
  • Ability to practice discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask
  • Ability and comfort level in working with numbers
  • Knowledge of our claims processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and Access)
  • Proven interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral)

Credentials and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-3 years experience in customer service (with focus in medical field)
  • ICD-10, CPT Coding Knowledge preferred
  • Self-Funding Experience a PLUS

Access to Protected Health Information (PHI) – This position requires the employee to handle PHI for duties related to underwriting. This position is responsible and accountable for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of protected health information.
