Senior Accountant

Ciner Resources Corporation

This is a Contract position in Lexington, KY posted November 25, 2021.

The Senior Accountant has responsibility for various areas of accounting operations for corporate including the monthly overall close process, financial reporting, general ledger and accounts payable.

This role will have the opportunity to develop their accounting skills in a NYSE listed manufacturing environment as well as routinely work with all levels of management.

In addition, this position will be accountable for executing internal controls in a SOX compliant environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full cycle monthly accounting: Process and review journal entries, general ledger accounts research and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.

Accounts Payable process: Overall responsibility for the accounts payable process.

Supervise individuals assigned to maintaining vendor payables files including purchase orders, receipt of goods, payment of vendors according to terms, etc.; process vendor 1099s.

SG&A: Create, distribute and analyze monthly SG&A Report.

Analyze monthly intercompany charges and settlement of charges when applicable.

Partner with FP&A to ensure completeness and alignment of SG&A budget and forecasts.

Maintain updated and accurate documentation for assigned responsibilities [i.e., account reconciliations, budget/forecast assumptions and calculations].

Ensure accuracy of analysis and compliance with all standards and processes.

Conduct and document complex ad hoc financial analyses, various special projects and initiatives.

Assist with fostering our culture of continuous improvement including a lead role in optimizing our recently implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Partner with internal customers to achieve corporate strategic initiatives as well as adhere to the monthly financial close schedule.

Assist in executing financial controls and accounting procedures that meet required SOX standards.

Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits.

Carry out supervisory and development responsibilities for direct reports.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes while focusing on safety and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline MBA, CPA, CMA, CCA or similar certification required Five to seven (5-7) years of accounting and financial analysis experience, or four to six (4-6) years of experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills Experience in financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts High attention to detail and focused on data accuracy Thorough knowledge of accounting and standard internal accounting control procedures Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills A self-starter who can work independently and efficiently on projects and key deliverables under time pressures and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results Advanced Excel skills required; Microsoft ERP experience preferred Ciner Resources Corporation provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
